Responsible for adequate and effective financial management

Allington Parish Council is funded via a Precept from Wiltshire Council which is derived via a Community Charge which Electors pay as part of their Annual Council tax charge. Annually, the Parish Council review the expenditure incurred over the current budget period and calculates its expenditure requirements for the next financial year, before submitting its Precept request for approval by Wiltshire Council.

Allington Parish Council is responsible in law for ensuring that its financial management is adequate and effective and that it has sound systems of internal control, which facilitates the effective exercise of the Councils responsibilities, including the management of risk. (NALC Financial Regulations 2016).
